Daily Devotion (September 3, 2024)

Psalm 28:7–9
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; And with my song will I praise him.
8 The LORD is their strength, And he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9 Save thy people, And bless thine inheritance: Feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

Today and everyday praise God. Trust in God’s faithfulness!

God is our strength and shield. God does not take us out of the battle. He does allow us to walk through the “Valley of the shadow of death.” We praise God. We cry out to God, not in doubt, but in full faith that He not only has been faithful and true but knowing He will continue to be faithful and true. God never changes. The God who walked with us on top of the mountain will be with us in the valley.

David wrote the Psalm to encourage the followers of God. Because God never changes, we can be encouraged that God will be with us. Paul wrote in Romans 4:16, “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.” God has proved Himself faithful and Paul wrote that God would be faithful to the very end.

I look at my day and wonder, “Do I only thank God for the big ‘miracles” He has done in my life, or do I also thank God for the small, microscopic miracles no one sees.” We must praise God even when we walk through the darkness of the valley. So today praise God.

Galatians 3:14–16
14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15 Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it.
16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.
