Psalm 118:6 “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Hebrews 13:6 “So we may boldly say: The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Psalm 56:11 “In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
We are surrounded by the enemy. We are under assault. We can see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and know evil is real. What has been hidden now has the boldness to appear before us. It is not that the names have been changed to protect the innocent. The names are now becoming known to reveal who the true enemy is. The underling cause of evil is Satan. His puppets are seen with the human eye.
The psalmist makes a bold statement in Psalm 118:10–11, “What can man do to me?” We know what man can do. Man can take life away. We see it every day. Not in some far isolated country but here on our own soil. The psalmist knew this also. “All nations surrounded me, but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. They surrounded me, Yes, they surrounded me; But in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.” I always thought the “flight” in “fight or flight” was always a great option.
Yes, the enemy can take the physical life away from us, but he cannot destroy the work of God. How is the enemy destroyed? Military action has helped to destroy the enemy. History proves this. Sometimes this is necessary. Isolation can help remove the enemy. Both are good at times. The best way to defeat the enemy is to engage them not with the sword of man but with the Sword of The Lord. The Word of God. A strong military is necessary to defeat the enemy. Along with a strong military we need the “Army of God” to fight.
We fight not with sword and guns but with the Word of God. True Christianity is not confined to an isolated, insulated, innocuous sanctuary for an hour on Sunday morning. The warriors of Christianity are found on the streets being used by God to combat the evils of the satanic war.
Many Christians have lost their physical lives over the millennia. They have combatted the evil force of Satan’s army. It may seem the enemy is winning. HE IS NOT! We can stand with the writer of Hebrews and strongly state, “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
