John 14:3 (NKJV)
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
The promise. Knowing God is not only taking care of us in this world but is preparing a future home for us.
Believe God, trust God, exhibit faith in God! Jesus knowing His time had come to depart was leaving a message of hope in the lives of His disciples. Jesus’ followers spent three years walking with Him, following Him, and learning from Him. Now He is leaving them. He is leaving but not abandoning them. He wants them to know He will only be gone for a brief time. He will return.
The followers of Christ were not going to live a utopian life waiting for Christ to come back. They would face many trials and tribulations. Their faith in Christ was real. Jesus promised while He was gone, He would send the Holy Spirit to walk with them. (John 16:7 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”)
Jesus promise lives in the life of each believer today. We exercise our faith in God by following Christ each day. Life is difficult. It is going to get much more difficult. The pall of darkness surrounds us. We live amongst the darkness of satanic influence. Christians must live each moment of the day in the Light of Jesus.
In church today do not depend on a worship leader, music, a preacher, or his sermon determine your experiencing God. You go to church to worship God with other believers in Jesus Christ. I repeat a verse I say to myself almost every Sunday, “Hebrews 10:24–25 “24And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Go to church with great expectation of God doing a mighty work in your life.
