Psalm 139:1–6 (NKJV)
1 O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.
3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
5 You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.

Psalm 139:1-6 highlights God’s omniscience, meaning He knows everything about us. Here are some key points from these verses:

God knows our actions: He is aware of when we sit down and rise up.
God knows our thoughts: He understands our thoughts from afar.
God knows our paths: He is familiar with all our ways, whether we are active or resting.
God knows our words: Even before we speak, God knows what we are going to say.
God surrounds us: He hems us in, behind and before, and lays His hand upon us.

This passage emphasizes that there is nothing hidden from God. He knows every detail of our lives, including our innermost thoughts and intentions 123.

As for what God does not know, Psalm 139 does not suggest any limitations to God’s knowledge. The concept of God’s omniscience implies that He knows everything, so there isleaving no room for anything He does not know.

God not only knows all He knows but is also the motivation behind our thoughts.

Is God the motivator in your thoughts?
