1 Peter 2:9–10
9But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
It is not like the world is seeking God. It is like God is seeking after us. God loves us in all our filth and dirt. The only sin that keeps us from God is rejecting Him. We are to seek after God.
Here are a few verses on what the Bible says about seeking God.
Proverbs 8:17 (NKJV)
17I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me.
Deuteronomy 4:29 (NKJV)
29But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
14if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
1 Chronicles 22:19 (NKJV)
19Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD.”
