Daily Devotion (November 4, 2024)
Jude 4
4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
How do we know? Christians must know the Word of God! How do we know a person denies the deity of Christ? They do not follow His teachings. 1 Timothy 4:1–2 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.”
If Christians do not know the Word of God, how can they tell if a person is a false teacher.
This is why Bible study and discipleship training is important. Yes! We do need to be in a worship service. We need the fellowship of other Christians in singing the praise of God. We need to hear the Word of God preached from the pulpit, but we also need to be studying the Word of God. Long ago I heard the illustration of how people can tell if a dollar bill was real or counterfeit? You know what is real not by studying the counterfeit but by studying what is real.
We know the Word of God by studying His Word, the Bible. Many profess with their mouth Jesus, but their lives do not prove their words. “They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.” (Titus 1:16)
An ry: False teachings have come into many churches. False teachings from the pulpit and in small group Bible study is now tolerated by many churches. The way of the world has taken over the truth of God. I know emotions are a part of the Christian life, but we are not to allow emotions to paint our way. The truth of God’s word is to be undiluted. God’s Word cannot be watered down to appease the congregants of the church.
The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah has overtaken America! Churches are now celebrating deviant lifestyles and allowing the sexual sins of the world to come in unchecked.
God is a God of Justice therefore sin must be punished (Leviticus 20:10-21) Remember Jesus went to the cross to pay for our sin.
God is a God of Mercy and forgiveness (Psalm 103:12)

Jesus Sacrificial death on the cross is the ultimate atonement for Sin (Hebrews 9:26)
Remember Jesus went to the cross to pay for our sin.
Through Jesus, believers are redeemed and restored to a right relationship with God (Romans 6:23)
Remember Jesus went to the cross to pay for our sin.
God calls believers to turn away from sin and live a transformed life through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:2)
Remember Jesus went to the cross to pay for our sin.
