Daily Devotion (January 10, 2025)
9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer (Verses 9-13):
Addressing God: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.”
Kingdom and Will: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Provision: “Give us this day our daily bread.”
Forgiveness: “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”
Guidance and Protection: “And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.”
Forgiveness (Verses 14-15): Emphasizes the importance of forgiving others to receive forgiveness from the Father.
This passage highlights the importance of sincere prayer and forgiveness in the Christian faith.
My focus this morning is verse 10. In the end we will say, “Thy will be done.” Or God will say, “thy will be done.” I pray that I will be saying everyday for Gods will to be done in my life. If I live out my will excluding God, then my eternity will be in Hell. I do not want that. Having accepted Christ, I have made Him the Lord of my life.
Have you made Christ the Lord of your life?
