Daily Devotion (January 21, 2025)

Isaiah 40:9-11
9 You who bring good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God!”
10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense “companionship” accompanies him.
11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

The hope and assurance God is with His people.

God’s people are to herald the Good News of God with confidence and without fear.

There is hope that is found in God and God alone. God is a shepherd gathering His flock. He protects His flock. He guides His flock. God knows the world we live in. The message is to trust God. Follow God. Live in His power. He will guide us and protect us. Everything we need in life is found in God and His protection.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV): “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Joshua 1:9 (NIV): “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

John 14:27 (NIV): “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

God’s presence, strength and peace encourage us to trust in Him and Him alone.

Psalm 121:1-2, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.”
