Daily Devotion (January 25, 2025)
Psalms 20:7
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”
We live in a fallen world. It has been this way ever since the Garden of Eden. God gives us direction. He lets us know our purpose in life. The Joker in the Batman movie said, “Who do you trust?” Satan drew a line in the sand. The question to Eve was, “Who do you trust, the Creator of all things or the destroyer, Satan himself.
Trust is a crucial part of our lives, and the decision to place our trust in God has a profound impact not only in our lives but in the lives of others we interact with. What if Adam and Eve had never taken of the forbidden fruit?
God gives us great resources to live in this world. We must use what God has given us but also allow God to instruct and guide us in how we use the resources He places in our lives.
Are we truly trusting God. Do we just give God lip service and then do what we want and desire? We are reminded in challenging times that God is dependable in His Word. It is easy to say “I trust God” when we live in Utopia. Utopia does not really exist. There is no perfect world outside of God.
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
