Daily Devotion (January 30, 2025)Jude 1:5 But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.Jude reminds the church of the importance of faith and the consequences of disbelief. Faith and obedience. It is one thing to talk about faith, but are we truly obedient to the Word of God? There is the expectation of obedience to God when we accept Christ into our lives. I am reminded of the Israelites who God delivered from captivity. How many times did God deliver them in their disobedience? There came a time when they were kept from entering the Promise Land because of disobedience. They were not willing to follow God even though God had saved them from the hand of Pharoh. There are consequences for disbelief and lack of faith. But we are encouraged by those who hold strong and persevere in faith. The follower of Christ is not a follower of the world. The follower of Christ must stay committed to the faith and follow Him.
