Daily Devotion (February 2, 2025)
Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd.
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
As a shepherd watches over and protects the flock so does God with His people. God guides, provides, and protects His flock.
He offers peace and rest to His followers. God gives us His best. He Guides us down the path of righteousness leading us to moral and spiritual unity with Him.
God, our shepherd, leads us down the path of righteousness. There is only one path of righteousness. It is the path God leads us to. It is on this path we find true moral and spiritual guidance.
When we follow God, we find comfort even in adversity because God’s presence in our lives brings comfort and security.
We cannot be filled with God’s blessings walking the path of the world. His abundant blessings are found only in following Him.
