Daily Devotion (February 3, 2025)
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…’ So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” – Genesis 1:26-27
You are a creation of God! You belong to God. It is only because of God you exist. God did not create humanity by accident. Creation of humanity is God’s greatest act. You are not a byproduct of evolution. You are not a production of evolution even though it might be taught in public schools as fact. But however, you believe, ultimately it goes back to God. God is the Creator of all things. GOD IS THE CREATOR OF YOU! I think the point God would want us to know is we are the work of God! He is our Creator, He loves us, He guides and directs us. GOD LOVES US! “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
God’s love indwells the life of each person. We can either accept God’s love or reject it. We are the creation of God and should allow His love to work through our lives. We should be bearing the love of God but also sharing His love to others.
If you were born, and obviously you were, you have the ability to receive God’s love and should be living your life in His love. I ask a certain person how he is doing. His response is, “I am living the life.” I do not necessarily understand what he means by this. I do know that to truly live life to the fulness is to accept God into our lives through Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” Satan may think he won in the Garden. He did not. Jesus had a greater plan and that was the salvation offered through His death on the cross.
We can accept the worlds definition of creation or Gods definition, His act of creation. The world offers emptiness, God offers fulfillment through Him living in us.
