Hebrews 2:1-4
“Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him
God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?”
Salvation in Jesus Christ is not just quoting a few words and then going about living our lives the way we did before. Our salvation is not cheap. It was purchased with the Blood of Jesus from the cross. The message delivered by the angels is trustworthy and binding. We are to obey the message. Our salvation did not come cheaply.
As believers in Jesus Christ, we must be faithful and attentive to the salvation God has given us through Jesus. We do not just say we trust God; we are also obedient to Him.
We must recognize the authority of God working in our lives. We are to trust and obey God. Disobedience to God leads to spiritual separation from God. Sin creates a barrier between us and God. When we ignore God and are not faithful to Him, we suffer the loss of God’s blessing. Along with this comes the discipline of God. As a professing Christian we need to realize the impact our lives have on others. For many our lives are the only Bible many read.
