1 Corinthians 1:18 (NKJV) — For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Romans 1:16 (NKJV) — For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
2 Peter 1:3 (NKJV) — as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
Last night I was doing a Zoom meeting at church. Everything was going great until the computer turned off.
The computer worked great. Everything was connected as it was supposed to be. There were no glitches. Everything about the program was going well until the sudden interruption. Why did the computer go off?
For a good thirty minutes, everything was good, then the computer instantly quit. I forgot to plug it into the power source.
The same is true for Christians. We realize we need the power of God to flow through our lives. We do not save ourselves. Paul writes we are being saved through the “power of God.” Our salvation is “the power of God to salvation for everyone ‘WHO BELIEVES.’ Jesus is our power source we must be connected to. We cannot function Without this connection.
Jesus said in Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Prayer, Bible reading and study, and being connected to God is the only way we stay powered up.
