Acts 2:42–47 (NKJV) — 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Hebrews 10:24–25 (NKJV) — 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

The church, the Family of God! The church is a spiritual family bound together through the blood of Jesus Christ. Our physical family is important. Our spiritual family is important. We are the family of God!

Two very important things the First Century church did, that we must be doing today, were teaching the Word of God and fellowshipping with each other. The early church fellowshipped together. The church met more than just on Sunday morning. The church came together daily.

The early church was not complicated. There was joy and delight in coming together. There was no agenda to be filled. There was the sharing together in fellowship, the breaking of bread, and teaching.

Let’s decomplicate the church! Let’s make the church a place where Christians can come together in fellowship swallowed up in the love of Jesus and share His love with one another. We live in a complicated world. The church should be that one place where people can come to and feel the love of God.
