Galatians 1:6–7 (NKJV) — 6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon
from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which
is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the
gospel of Christ.
What is the gospel of Christ? The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ. It
is the birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. The Gospel
cannot be added to nor taken away.
To preach or teach any other gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ is a sin.
There is no other way into God’s salvation other than Jesus. Jesus died that
we might be delivered from sin and death and live eternally with God.
Why the gospel? Because God loves us! God loves us with an eternal
unlimited love. We cannot earn the love and acceptance of God. There is a
false gospel. There is a false gospel that adds to what God has done through
Jesus. Satan can work through the lies of others. There are many, even in
the church, who want to pervert the gospel of Christ. We must never
become lax in our study and in living out the gospel each day of our lives.
This is why study of God’s Word, the Bible, is so important. Jesus is our only
way to eternal salvation. There is no salvation in any other person.
Peter’s words to Christ are still true today, John 6:68, “But Simon Peter
answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal
life.’”
Jesus said in John 8:24, “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your
sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
Romans 10:9–10 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and
believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:13 “For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
We cannot add to nor take away from God’s salvation. But those who have
truly accepted Christ desire to live in His salvation and fellowship with others
who have accepted Christ.
Hebrews 10:23–25 (NKJV) — 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope
without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one

another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting
one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
