1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him
who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.}
For the Christian…you have much to be excited about. It is not about the
singing or the preaching or the fellowship, but the belonging. These are
important. Bus as a Christian you are part of a family, one who has entered
into the, not just the priesthood, but the “Royal” priesthood of God. When
you accepted Christ as your Savior you not only became a part of a nation,
you became a part of a “Holy” nation. You are special! No longer do you walk
in the darkness of sin. But you now walk in the light of Jesus Christ.
The one who has accepted Christ as Savior and Lord has entered into a new
relationship…a love relationship with God, the God of all creation. No longer
is the mind focused on the things of this world but on the things of God. No
longer does the believer in Christ work to be conformed to the ways of this
world but to God. (Romans 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but
be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is
that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”)
Here is an important question for the follower of Christ. Are you walking and
living your life in the presence of God as a “royal priest”? Do you have the
unbroken communion with God? Are you in constant communion with God in
prayer?
1 Peter 2:5, “you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a
holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through
Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 1:6, “and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to
Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
There is a certain person when I ask how he is doing answers, “I am living
the dream.” How would you answer?
