Ephesians 6:14 (NKJV)
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Those who hate have the voice to spread the lies of hate. Those who know the truth stand silent.
Christians have been bound by the Word of Truth found only in Jesus. We are to expose the truth of God to the world. It is not only speaking the truth of God’s Word, but also living the truth. Speaking and living go together. Someone once said to me, “Words are cheap.” Words are backed up by action.
God has created and saved us for a purpose. We are to expose the truth of God. Life is not about me, it is not about you, it is all about Jesus. Glorify God not just in words but also in action.
Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:15 “and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”
Remember Christ died for us not just so we can go to Heaven. He died for us so we could have a relationship with Him that is both real and meaningful. In John 10:10 Jesus says, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
To live the abundant life Christ has given us we must be willing to wrap ourselves in the truth of God, in God’s Word. We must be willing to wear the “belt of truth.” Salvation is more than just giving mental thought to God; it is living the life God has given us through His Word.
Live the Word of God! Romans 12:1–2
1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
If Christians are going to stand for the Truth of God and His Word, then we must sacrificially give our lives to Him each day. We go to the altar of sacrifice giving ourselves to Him.
Paul said it this way in Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Each of us must ask ourselves this question daily, “Have I committed, given my life to Jesus today?” “Have I gone to the altar of God and made myself a living sacrifice for God?”
It is not that we live for self. Are we living for God or His adversary Satan. There is no middle ground.
