Matthew 13:3–9 (NKJV)
3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow.
4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.
5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth.
6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.
8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Our responsibility is to sow the seed. We are to sow the seed as we are going. Not everyone is going to receive. It is not our responsibility to know who will or who will not receive God’s Word. We are to sow the seed of God wherever we go.
Just a thought. We are either sowing the seed of God or we are sowing the seed of Satan.
A second thought. We cannot sow what we do not have. All Christians have the seed of the Word of God. But how many have a false Gospel?
Buy a packet of seed. What do you get?
Some packets contain Heirloom seeds. These have been passed down through generations and have remained unchanged for many years.
Some packets of seed are Hybrid seeds. These are created by crossing two different plant seed to produce offspring with desired characteristics. This can be good or it can be bad. Some packets contain Organic seeds. These come from plants that have been grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers.
You must be careful when sowing the Word of God. You get what you buy. Not everyone who sows God’s Word is sharing the unadulterated Word of God. That is why we have the Bible to help us know what seed is being sown. Some sow the seed of God’s Word. Some sow the seed of Satan.
We need to make sure we are sowing the truth of God’s Word, that is why we have the Bible, discipleship training, worship services, and other Christians who help us to grow in God’s Word. God calls all Christians to be witnesses, “Seed Sowers” in the world.
