Ephesians 6:14
14Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.
Truth does not belong to Satan. He is a liar. The believer, follower of Christ is controlled by the Truth of God. Everything is held together with the truth of God. Do not lean on what another person says to you about the Word of God. Study the word of God for yourself. Know the Word of God not just in your mind but in your heart.
The psalmist writes in Psalm 119:11, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” The truth of God’s Word leads us down the path of His righteousness. Pilate asked Jesus in John 18:38 “What is truth?”
And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.” In Jesus you can find no fault…He is the perfect picture of truth and “perfection.” Therefore, Pilate could find no fault in Him.
Living an honest, transparent life is important for the Christian. We must live our lives not according to the will of the world, but to the will of God.
This reminds me of the old song, “Living for Jesus.”
“Living for Jesus, a life that is true, Striving to please Him in all that I do;
Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free, This is the pathway of blessing for me.
O Jesus, Lord and Savior, I give myself to Thee, For Thou, in Thy atonement, didst give Thyself for me; I own no other Master, my heart shall be Thy throne; My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ, for Thee alone.”
And then the song “Stand up for Jesus”
Stand up, stand up for Jesus ye soldiers of the cross; lift high his royal banner, it must not suffer loss. From vict’ry unto vict’ry his army he shall lead till ev’ry foe is vanquished and Christ is Lord indeed.
Today choose to Stand up for Jesus. As a Christian you are a soldier of Christ.
