“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11).
Trusting God and trusting people are two different kinds of trust. People, being imperfect, can fail, make mistakes, and let us down—even with the best intentions. God, on the other hand, is unchanging, perfectly faithful, and all-knowing, which makes Him wholly trustworthy.
Here is why many place their trust in God above all else:
- God is unchanging – Unlike people, whose emotions and actions can shift, God is constant in His love, wisdom, and promises (Malachi 3:6).
- God’s wisdom surpasses human understanding – People can mislead, misunderstand, or misjudge, but God’s guidance is perfect and leads to true fulfillment (Proverbs 3:5-6).
- God’s plans are for our good – While human choices may be self-serving or flawed, God’s purpose is ultimately for our benefit (Jeremiah 29:11).
- God is completely faithful – Unlike people, who may unintentionally break trust, God never fails in His promises (Numbers 23:19).
- God sees the full picture – People operate with limited knowledge, but God sees every detail and knows what is best (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Who do you trust? Who do you listen to?
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Psalm 119:11)
