Psalm 2:1–5 (NKJV)
1Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing?
2The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,
3“Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.”
4He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure:

The bottom line for me is; “Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.” “Psalm 2:11”

Many think of God as a kind and caring grandfather type of God. We forget about God’s wrath. Sin means nothing to those who dismiss God as the Creator, the One who rules, the One who gives life and can take away life.

The grandfather God loves and overlooks evil and laughs at sin. We must remember the God of today is the same God who dismissed Adam and Eve from the Garden. He is the God who allowed His children to be attacked by the enemy and taken into captivity.

Those who choose to follow the ways of the world and not God can be reminded of Jesus words in the “Sermon on the Mount.” Jesus said, “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: “Matthew 7:22–24”

“Why do the nations rage?” They have dismissed God and live their lives for self. Remember Jesus words in Revelation 22:12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work.” The reward may not be to spend eternity with God in Heaven. It may be eternity in Hell with Satan.
