John 3:17–21 (NKJV) — 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to
condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He
who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has
come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because
their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and
does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who
does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that
they have been done in God.”
Verse 19…says ”And this is the condemnation.” Sin in this era of history
has been normalized. No longer does sin carry the stigma it once did. This is
not the only country committing abominable sin. Even in the history of the
Bible abomination was being practiced. Jeremiah 6:15 says speaking of
Israel, “Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No!
They were not at all ashamed; Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore,
they shall fall among those who fall; At the time I punish them, They shall
be cast down,” says the LORD.”
What has happened to the blush? No longer are people ashamed of sin. It
runs rampant in the streets. It is not that people are looking the other way.
It is not that people just ignore the sin. Sin is applauded! Even in many
churches it is condoned. May God help us. God has and does help us. God
gave us the Light of Righteousness. We nailed Him to the cross. We love sin
more than God. We expect sin in the world. This is not about the world
without Christ. This is about the church! We placate our soul once a week by
attending a “worship” service. Put on the spiritual garb and for an hour
pretend to worship God. We then turn around leave the sanctuary and go
back into the world and continue to do the “deeds of evil.”
I want to write about the blessings of God. How great God’s love is. How
God walks with us and talks with us. I want to express how great the love is
within the body of Christ. I know all these things are true. But I also see
what is happening outside the walls of the church and know what is
happening in the physical world is also taking place in the spiritual world.
Where sin should be condemned it is now condoned even practiced in the
“body of christ” (I intentionally spelled Christ with a small “c”.) When I use
the word condemned it does not mean I hate the person sinning. It means I
love the person living in sin but hate the sin. Sin is a cancer killing people
AND the church! Romans 6:12 “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal
body, that you should obey it in its lusts.”
I sit here typing these words and hurt. I hurt for my nation, I hurt for the
church, I hurt for those who falsely profess Christ and live a lie. If what I
type bothers you…good! It bothers me too. Maybe we all need to do some
soul searching. Are we living the life of Christ?
