John 4:13–14 (NKJV) — 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks
of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall
give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in
him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
The things of this world will never satisfy. An insatiable appetite. That is
what the world offers. It is Bunyan’s “Vanity Fair.” Many live in a world at
odds with the principles of God. They drink from a cup that never satisfies.
Eventually they are led to an eternal death.
God offers what the world can never give. He offers life and life more
abundantly. Satan has come to steal and to kill. Jesus offers life and life
more abundantly (John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and
to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they
may have it more abundantly.”)
A life lived for the world brings death. A life lived for God brings “life and life
more abundantly.”
