Daily Devotion (December 28, 2024)
Hebrews 11:1-2 (NKJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
Christians, like everyone else, live in the same physical world. The beliefs and commitment to God give them a different perspective on life and experience a different reality of life. “True followers of Christ, with their biblical values and worldview, live their lives significantly differently from those who haven’t built their lives on the foundation of Christ.” This is not saying non-Christians are bad people, it is saying (the Foundation of the Christian life is Christ and His Word the Bible.)
Christians view the world through the lens of the Word of God. The Christian world view is founded in faith that is built on the Rock, Jesus Christ.
The Christian life is built on Jesus Christ. The Christian hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ. Jesus is the foundation of our faith. Faith in Jesus is “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Jesus is the central focus of the Christians life. Christians believe the Bible and believe it to be the Inspired Word of God! The Bible is standard for life. None of us lived during the period which the Bible was written…we accept the Bible by faith in what God has given us.
I hope I have stated it enough to let the reader know that Jesus is the central focus and the foundation of the Christian’s life.
The Worship Service is to be all about Jesus. We come to worship God! I hear people say and, in the past, have said, “I did not get anything out of the service today.” Think about this for a minute. What was your focus in worship? Was it so you could get anything out of it or was it to worship God?
