John 3:18–21 (NKJV) — 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned;
but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not
believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the
condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone
practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds
should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that
his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
Many professing Christ still walk in the darkness of this world. They have not
maximized their salvation experience. They have in their mind accepted
Christ as savior but their spirit has not maximized the true value of having
Christ live in them. I sit here typing a touch screen laptop computer and it is
laborious because I do not have my mouse. I am told this is supposed to be
good. The problem is I need instructions on how to use it. I want to go back
to my Underwood manual typewriter.
This is the problem; many have received Christ in their lives with a desire to
live the Christian faith. They have received the most valuable gift they could
ever receive, a gift that stays wrapped up and never maximized. They labor
through life never experiencing the wonder of the magnificent gift they have
received. Even if the gift is unwrapped the instructions are never followed.
We must, the church must not only evangelize but also disciple the ones who
proclaim Jesus as Savior. How important it is that Christians do not walk in
darkness.
