Daily Devotion (December 9, 2024)
John 1:1-3
John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:2: “He was in the beginning with God.”
John 1:3: “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”
Christmas is upon us, and we focus on the incarnation of Jesus. Matthew and Luke focus on the birth of Jesus. John goes back to the beginning of God’s creation and allows us to see that Jesus Himself was God. He had no beginning and is the creator of all things that exist.
To understand life, we must know God. God is eternal and has always existed. He is our creator. To know Christ is to know God. To know God is to experience the fulness of God and His love for us. To know Christ is to experience the love and the power of God in our lives.
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 16:27 “for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father.”
Romans 8:35 “Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps themis the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” I add the verse because we need to know and understand that if we have accepted Christ into our lives we will be obedient to Christ and follow Him and not the world.
