1 Thessalonians 1:2–3 (NKJV)
“2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, 3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father.”

A strong church is a praying church! What is the medium God has chosen for us to communicate with Him. A few verses about prayer.

Matthew 21:22 (NKJV)
22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

John 15:7 (NKJV)
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

James 4:1–3 (NKJV)
4 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

We not only pray, but we also encourage others to pray. We pray individually and collectively.
