Daily Devotion (February 6, 2025)

Jeremiah 29:13: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Wow! Blow me away. Half hearted seeking God is not seeking God at all. Wholehearted seeking God is genuinely seeking God with your entire being. David wrote about this in Psalm 63:1 “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. At night David remembered God. He meditated on God. He recognized and meditated on Him. Even with the pursuit of the enemy David knew he could rejoice in God. David trusted God and rejoiced in Him.

Do we fail to worship God daily. Maybe we think Sundays are the only time of worship. Corporate worship is important but so is individual private worship of God important. That is why my private time in the morning is so important to me. It is my one-on-one time with God. This is an intimate time I can spend with God worshiping Him in praise and reading His word. Mornings may not be your time. But whatever time you spend with God is important to and for you.

God says in Jeremiah that He, God, is not hard to find. BUT! We must seek Him with all our heart! God does not accept half-hearted dualistic praise. Again, what does God says in Jeremiah 29:13? “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

God says in Jeremiah that He, God, is not hard to find. BUT! We must seek Him with all our heart! We must be single minded in our pursuit of God. James 1:8 says, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” A follower of God must be single minded and fully committed to God.
