Matthew 16:5–6 (NKJV) — 5 Now when His disciples had come to the other
side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said to them, “Take
heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”
In John 8:32 Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall
make you free.”
I thank God for those in the church who love God and His Church!
There are those who preach and teach the Bible from truth and those who
preach the Bible from THEIR perspective of the truth.
There is blindness in the church today. Not among all members but on those
who are seeking the things of this world. Many refuse to look at the signs of
the times. They choose to be blind because they refuse to God’s Word.
Those who refuse to see can never be changed. There is never enough signs
or evidence to convince some to change their hearts.
Many are bound by the sin of tradition, false teachings, and false promises.
There is one truth, and it is Jesus. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
(John 14:6).
There is spiritual blindness in the church today. A Gallup survey released 20
years ago revealed that 86% of Americans claimed to be Christian BUT ONLY
70% ADMITTED TO BEING “BORN AGAIN” ACCORDING TO THE BIBLICAL. Recent
studies by Pew research indicates that only 25% of Americans now attend
church on any given Sunday down from 47% in 1990. The research shows
that 36% of those who attend church weekly indicate that believing in Jesus
Christ is the only true way to Heaven. Fifty Seven percent believe other
religions can lead to eternal life. Is it any wonder the church is failing to
fulfill the Great Commission.
The truth of God and His Scripture is a by product of the “Christian faith.”
More go to church for things other than hearing the Word of God. Many are
bound up in the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. Self-
righteousness, spiritual pride, and hypocrisy plague the life of so many
professing Christians.
The heart of man without Christ is wicked and adulterous. We live in perilous
times. We refuse to look at the signs of the times. So many choose to be
spiritually blind because they are wicked and adulterous.
