Jeremiah 29:11–13
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
God’s Promise
Sin is so evil! Sin separates us from God. Sin is anything we say, do, or think that is displeasing to God.
We are in the thoughts of God. He has a plan for us. God wants to give us a future and HOPE! Judah had been in captivity for Seventy Years. God wants His people to know He would restore the nation. He had a plan for them, one of peace and prosperity. He had a plan of hope. God would hear their prayers. BUT, They must call upon Him and seek after Him with all their hearts.
The same is true for us today. We may not be in captivity physically, but emotionally, mentally, and especially spiritually we are.
God will set us free from the things of this world. He will set us free from the captivity of Satan, the captivity of sin. The only freedom we truly possess is found in God.
Jeremiah 29:14, “I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.”
Freedom. The only freedom we have is found is in Jesus. If we want real freedom we must want it enough to turn from the world and to Jesus. We must be willing to call upon Jesus and seek after Him.
This desire for freedom is not just words coming from the mouth, it comes from the heart.
Romans 10:9–10
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
