Ephesians 5:15–16 15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Be careful! Where you walk is important. There are two types of people. The fool and the wise. The fool is the person who is unthinking, uncaring, and worldly minded. The fool is not the one who is stupid but the one who is careless and unconcerned. The fool does not care or cares little about where he should go. Speaking in the spiritual sense the fool cares little about God and where his spiritual life is headed in this world. In Christian parlance the fool says, “If I sin God will forgive me.” Or maybe the fool would say as the old Doris Day song went, “Que Sera Sera whatever will be will be.”

The wise person is one who has truly accepted Christ. The wise person is spiritually minded. The spiritually minded person is on mission for God. He knows God personally and knows his life has meaning. The spiritually minded person is not focused on self and does not care if he is the center of attention. The spiritually minded person does care of how others see Jesus in him. Again speaking in Christian parlance, the spiritually minded person would say, “LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN ME.”

The spiritually minded person cares about his relationship with God. His spiritual walk is important. Other people are important. The old song speaks well to this attitude. “While passing through this world of sin, And others your life shall view, Be clean and pure without, within, Let others see Jesus in you.”

Many a foolish person has mentally accepted Christ but have not given their hearts to God. Many a foolish person with stand before God in judgement and hear God say as Jesus taught in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS!’
