Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which were seen were not made of things which are visible.
It is life. Not all things that happen to us are good. I am great at breaking computers. I am writing my “Daily Devotion “on a third computer within two weeks. Will Sonnet would say, “No brag, just fact.” Believe me this is no brag. It is a fact unfortunately. But I do not let this stop me.
God’s Word is important. I know God wants His Word to go out. Over the years, centuries, millennia God’s Word has been broadcast. The Word of God has always been met with opposition. We continue to press on. Philippians 3:14 “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus is the goal. We are to continue toward the calling of God. Move forward…” forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead” Philippians 3:13
Christians possess the greatest gift ever given, Jesus Christ. This gift is not to be kept within oneself. We are to share Christ with the world. We face obstacles. The goal is set before us. Satan is working hard to keep us from sharing Christ with others. Leave the past behind. We may have failed in the past, but our future is bright. Darkness lays ahead but we walk in the light of Jesus. 1 John 1:7 says, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.” We know Jesus lives in us and we walk in His light and fellowship with others who are in the light. Our strength comes from the power of the Holy Spirit living in us. It also comes from the fellowship we share with each other.
The Psalmist writes, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105.
If you are a Christian, you are called to live by faith. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hard times are not over. The darkness of sin is still prevalent and growing in and around us. By Faith We walk with God. He is our light, our substance, our hope.
