Galatians 1:1
1Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead),
God’s calling. We are all called by God. Just as God had a plan and purpose in the apostle Paul’s life, He has a purpose in our life.
People questioned Paul’s calling. There were those who wanted to destroy Paul and his ministry. Paul’s focus was not upon himself, but upon Christ. He exhorted the church to be of a single purpose and to exercise their Christian witness in the face of the true enemy, Satan. Those who stand with Satan face destruction.
We must remember our calling. Each Christians calling is unique. Each Christians calling is important in the church. The church must stand together in the face of the true enemy, Satan. “United we stand, divided we fall.”
At the time of the Revolutionary War, Benjamin Franklin declared, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.” The church must stand together. Each member of the church is important. Paul reminded the church of his calling. It was not of man but of God. Our calling is of God. Just as important as Paul’s calling was our calling is just as important.
