Daily Devotion (July 12, 2024)
1 Peter 2:9–10
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Have you chosen to be chosen by God? Are you walking in the light of God? We have a choice. We can continue to walk in the darkness of this world or to walk in the Light of Jesus Christ.
Having accepted Christ, you have entered into the chosen. Your life is different because of what God has done for you. You are part of the royal family of God. You have become a part of a holy family. You, having accepted Christ, are a special person. No longer is the world your home. You are on a journey to that eternal home of God.
The world should see Jesus in you. The old B.B. McKinney song says, “While passing through this world of sin, and others your life shall view, be clean and pure without, within, Let others see Jesus in you.”
Make today about Jesus. Proclaim Jesus in words and actions. Remember you are chosen by God to be a part of His family.
