Not everyone has been blessed to have been taught the Bible from early childhood. Having been taught brings about a responsibility to not only know but to live the Word of God.
It is not enough to have learned God’s Word. The believer, follower of Christ must continue in that which has been learned. There comes a time we are to move forward in living out God’s Word in the world. We are to stand, live in, continue in the Word of God.
Why be in a church that teaches the Word of God? Being a part of God’s church is more than just a Sunday morning “Worship” service. God’s church is one where the Bible is taught and learned. The church is where confidence in Scripture is taught and played out in the lives of followers of Christ. Being a follower of Christ is more than just knowing you are going to Heaven. It is learning about Christ, sharing Christ, and teaching others to know and follow Christ.
Somewhere close to 40 years ago I learned CPR. I not only learned CPR, I taught CPR. I then became an instructor trainer in CPR so others could teach CPR. The knowledge I acquired did not stay with me. I knew the lifesaving value of CPR. I shared that knowledge and helped others to share their knowledge of CPR.
Over 60 years ago I accepted Christ into my life. I was taught and am still being taught the Ways of God. I have not only accepted Christ in my life, I am sharing, teaching others about Christ. I not only teach others about Christ I am teaching others how to teach others about Christ.
We are to not only accept the Word of God but are to live His Word, share His Word, and help others to grow in and live His Word. The church is the natural place to do this.
Know God’s Word intimately. Be actively involved in God’s church!
