Galatians 5:1 (NKJV)
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

Even freedom has its boundaries. When a person accepts Christ as personal Savior and Lord he is freed from the law of and its enslaving power. No longer does satanic evil have control over a person’s life. Freedom in Christ gives us the opportunity to become what Christ created us to be.

The believer has been freed from the Law and its oppressive system. We are free from the penalty of sin. No longer does sin have power over us. We must remember freedom in Christ does not give us the power to live as we wish. Galatians 5:13 “For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

How many have been set free from the penalty of man’s law to go out and continue to break that law. True Christians do not do so. True freedom in Christ means we become a slave to Christ. This happens through a relationship with Him.

In marriage we are dedicated to the one we wed. In marriage we no longer have the freedom of dating or courting another person. We are dedicated to the one we married. Our commitment is to the one we vowed to love, honor, and hold from that moment onward.

As Christians, we have committed ourselves to Christ. From the moment we accepted Christ we are bound to Him. No longer does the evil of a satanic world control our lives.

John 8:36 “therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
