Daily Devotion (July 21, 2024)

Matthew 18:7–9 (NKJV)
7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
8 “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.
9 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

Whatever keeps you from God moves you closer to eternal hell.

It seems the religious mind is continually under rebellious change. The mind of God never changes. Sin is Sin.

Whatever keeps a person from God is sin. Sin is rebellion against God. Rebellion against God is aligning oneself with Satan. Satan’s eternity has already been set. He will spend it in Hell which will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.

I choose Jesus Christ! I am a follower of Jesus Christ. My life is not perfect, but my focus is Jesus Christ. I use a GPS when traveling. My focus, my goal in driving is to get from point A to point B. The GPS gives me guidance to get me to point B. Occasionally, I decide to go against the advice of the GPS and get off track. Occasionally, I get into trouble. The same is true in my spiritual experience with God. But I know how to get back on track. I follow God’s Plan for Salvation.

God’s Plan for Salvation is found in His word, the Bible. It is found in prayer. It is found in following Him according to His plan. Eternity is forever, it never ends. Our eternity is not chosen after death but while we are alive in this world. We do not know when this life will end. The next breath may not come. Before we take the next breath, we should be sure we have secured our place in Heaven with God.

What is keeping you from living your life for God? Jesus says get rid of it! Life on earth is temporary…Eternity never ends.
