Ephesians 2:1–2 (NKJV)
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.
What is in this physical world is temporary. One day, unless Jesus comes first, we all will die a physical death. The writer of Hebrews 9:27 tells us “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” If we were born the day will come when we die. Most people do not like talking about death. It is the great unknown. Yet there are many who are physically alive but spiritually dead. They are separated from the source of life, the giver of life.
Physical death is not the end of life. The walking dead are those who are separated from the true source of life, God.
For the Christian the apostle Paul gives us a fantastic understanding of life and death. He wrote in Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Paul understood his life on earth had meaning. He was to live His life for Christ. He was to devote to commit himself to God through his salvation in Christ but to do the will of God while on earth. Why does the believer in Christ stay here on earth after salvation? GOD HAS A PLAN AND PURPOSE FOR THE BELIEVER. There was a greater existence for Paul after life on earth. Our life on earth is temporary. The greater existence is spending eternity with God in Heaven. People work for the temporary things of this world. The believer in Christ realizes there is a better life on the other side of death.
If you are reading this, God has a plan for your life today. That plan is to live for Him. You are to live your life today for Christ!
