Daily Devotion Galatians 5:22–26 (NKJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

What does a person have to do to be saved and go to heaven? We can do nothing to earn our salvation. Paul writes that we are made right with God, not through our own effort but through faith in Jesus.

Paul’s letter to the church in Galatia tell us we are free from the legalistic burdens of man or enslaved to a law but freed to live by the Spirit of God. The freedom of God does not divide us but brings unity to the church, the Family of God.

The professing Christian has the Holy Spirit living in his life. It is only through the Holy Spirit residing in us that we discover the true Spirit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. As a believer in Christ, we allow the Spirit of God to not just reside in us but to set us free from bonds of legalism. We are free to allow the true Spirit of God to direct us and guide us in everyday life.

We learn our faith in Christ is not just exercised in a worship service, which we should be involved in, but in everyday life. We are freed from the bondage of sin in this world. We are free to live for Christ every moment of the day.

Walking in the Spirit is a choice. So today choose to walk in the Spirit of God. Find the freedom to break the bondage of Satan. Being freed from the bondage of sin is not a license to sin but to allow the freedom of Christ to rule and reign in our lives.
