Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen.”
John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I
in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live,
but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith
in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Faith is not passive. Faith means to believe. How do we know we believe; we
act on that belief. OBEDIENCE is an act of faith.
Faith produces OBEDIENCE. How do we know we have faith in God? We are
obedient to His Word…to Him.
Matthew 17:20 “So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for
assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to
this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will
be impossible for you.”
Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this
is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
How do we know we have faith in God? We are OBEDIENT to Him. We leave
the failures of the past behind and believe God for the impossible.
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Faith is not proved by what happens to us. It is played out in our lives by
being OBEDIENT to God even in the most difficult situations. God does have
the tendency to take us out of our comfort zone.
