John 8:31–32 (NKJV) — 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The question was asked, “If Christianity were proven to be true, would you believe? The reason so many are caught up in denying God is not because of a lack of proof it is a heart problem. Many would say, “No, I would not.” The issue is not proof, but the heart. When man first landed on the moon, many did not believe it. Just because one chooses not to believe does not mean it is not true.

Jesus came in the flesh, lived among His creation, spoke to and encountered many in conversation, and performed miracles. He was rejected.

The problem is not an intellectual problem. It is a problem with the heart. There are many who profess Jesus with their mouths. Their hearts are far from Him. Jesus says in Matthew 7:22–24, “22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ 24 “THEREFORE WHOEVER HEARS THESE SAYINGS OF MINE, AND DOES THEM, I WILL LIKEN HIM TO A WISE MAN WHO BUILT HIS HOUSE ON THE ROCK.”

For some, it is a possession problem. They believe it is their life and they will live it the way they wish. (Yes even professing Christians.) Billy Joel wrote one of the saddest songs I have heard, “My Life”.

Some of the lyrics are the same of those rejecting God. :

I don’t need you to worry for me ’cause I’m alright. I don’t want you to tell me it’s time to come

home. I don’t care what you say anymore this is my life

Go ahead with your own life leave me alone.

I never said you had to offer me a second chance. I never said I was a victim of circumstance.

I still belong. Don’t get me wrong You can speak your mind but not on my time.

A person without Christ is not all right! Jesus said in John 10:10, ”The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Haggai 1:5–6 (NKJV) — 5 Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! 6 “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”

Luke 9:23 (NKJV) — 23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
