1 Peter 2:9–10 (NKJV)
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Having accepted Christ as your Savior you have become special to God. You have placed your trust in His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus gave His all so we could have a relationship with His father.
Because of the love the Father has for His Son God will do anything for the person who trusts Him. The believer in Jesus is a new race of people. Christians are different from the world. The Spirit of God changes people from the inside. When one accepts Christ as Savior the external is not changed but what is on the inside is changed. The Spirit of God lives in the believer of Christ. The heart and mind are changed. When one truly accepts Christ God implants His divine nature within the true believer.
Just think, as a believer, as one who have honestly accepted Christ, you now have the divine nature of God living in you. WOW! You are no longer living for the world. To live for Christ is to walk worthy of the Lord to please Him, not the world. It means bearing fruit in every good work and continually increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10).
When one has accepted Christ as Savior:
· The person is born again (John 3:3-6)
· The person receives a renewed mind (Romans 12:2)
· The person becomes a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)
· The person becomes a new person (Ephesians 4:24; Colossians 3:10)
· The person receives a new spirit (Ezekial 11:19; Romans 6:4)
Believers in Christ become a royal priesthood. There is a personal relationship with God. There is a day-by-day relationship with God that honors and praises Him. There no longer is a closed door to God.
The moment we accept Christ God creates us into the royal priesthood. He gives us access into His presence forever.
