Matthew 7:13–14 (NKJV)
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

There are two ways to go in life! We make one choice we either enter eternity through the narrow gate or the wide gate. Most people take the way of the wide gate. The wide gate is easily seen. It is the natural way to go.

There is much deception in the world. It can even be found in the church. The worst deception is self-deception. It is possible for a person to have all the right answers but be ignorant of Christ. Jesus said, “I Am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the father but by me.” Many choose the path that is opened to them through the broad way. A path of easy believism. Easy believism is described by Billy Graham, saying, “There is a mindset today that if people believe in God and do good works they are going to Heaven.” Warren Wiersbe asked the question, “Did your profession of faith in Christ cost you anything? If not, then it was not a true profession.”

The broad way is the easy and most popular way. To Accept Jesus is to leave the broad road with all its appeal and go through the narrow gate. Easy believism is the path to an eternal Hell.

Jesus said the narrow gate was hard. It cannot be easily found. The wide gate is staring you in the face. The narrow gate is not seen. It can only be found if one turns to find it. The wide gate appears to be the only gate to enter. Many people are going through it.

The narrow gate is so narrow it cannot be seen. To enter the narrow gate, we must turn from the wide gate. We must search for the narrow gate and seek it out.

The way of the Wide Gate is eternity in Hell separated from God. The way of the Narrow Gate is eternity in Heaven with God.
