1 Peter 2:9–10 (NKJV)
9But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Have you, as a Christian, given any thought to who you are: chosen, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’ own special people. Christians are special people. Christians are special because each one has as Dr. Hendricks wrote in his book, “A Theology for Children” “chosen to be chosen”. If you have accepted Christ as Savior of your life you are different! Having accepted Christ, you may be in this world, but you are no longer a part of this world. AND if you are reading this you are alive to live your life for God! The alternative is ugly!

Every wonder why God has left you here? God has a plan and purpose for you. You are not chosen to walk as a part of the degenerate world. You are different. You are different not in a bad way, but in a fantastically great way. You are now a part of the family of God. A metamorphosis has taken place in your life. You have been changed from the inside out.

I love how Peter writes it, “who once were not a people, but are now the people of God.” As a part of the family of God you are special. You learn what it is like to be a part of “The family of God.” Remember who you are. Grow in your faith. Be an active part of the family in a good way. Let God’s Spirit work in and through you. Shine in the darkness.

I’ve written this several times before, but it still resonates in my mind. Some days I rode to school with some friends. Their father was the chauffeur. As we were let off at school he said to his sons, “Remember your name.” Remember who you are. We as Christians need to remember who we are. We need to remember who we stand for in this world. We need to let the goodness of God which lives in us be seen by the world.
