Philippians 1:15–19
15 Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill:
16The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains.
17but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.
18What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.
19For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

Not everything that happens to a Christian is good. Not everyone who preaches Christ is preaching from “goodwill.” There is opposition. Paul faced those who opposed him. There was a division in the church. There were those who had a sincere desire to oppose Paul and his desire to preach Christ. They had their selfish ambition. They were self-seeking, spiritually immature preachers.

Paul’s attitude was positive. He knew God’s calling in his life. He realized that he had one purpose and one goal. That was to preach Christ. All believers preach Christ. Christ is not just preached from the pulpit of the church. Christ is preached through the life of all believers. Preaching Christ is allowing others to see Christ in us. When we preach Christ, we are building up and not tearing down.

What was important to Paul? Preaching the word! All believers in Christ are called to preach the Word of God. Sometimes from the pulpit, more often from the daily journey through life and meeting others in everyday life.

So, I say to each one reading this… “PREACH THE WORD!” Let others see Jesus in you! And you know what? They do. Paul wrote, “Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.”

This is preaching the Word of God:
“While passing through this world of sin, and others your life shall view, be clean and pure without, within, Let others see Jesus in you.”
