Acts 1:8 (NKJV) — 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
What is your focus as a Christian?
Our focus is on Christ and to be a witness. We know Jesus is going to return. We do not know when the return will be. We do know for those who do not know Christ, and who have not accepted Christ have a choice to make. We have been given a mandate to be a witness of Christ to the world. We are to let the lost know about Jesus.
How do we do this? It is not in our power, but the power of God’s Holy Spirit.
Zechariah 4:6, “So he answered and said to me: ‘This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. Zerubbabel was to lead God’s people, not by his power but by the power of God. God would equip Zerubbabel.”
Our focus as Christians is to be prepared and equipped to follow God. Jesus tells us we are to be witnesses of Him to the world we live in. As Zerubbabel was empowered by God, so are we.
Proverbs 3:5–6,“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. God not only empowers us, but He also directs our steps.”
