John 1:12 (NKJV)
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
John 3:16 (NKJV)
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Why accept Christ as your Savior and Lord? Many have accepted Christ as Savior to avoid Hell. That is a good reason! Who would want to spend eternity in the burning flames of Hell?
There is a greater and more important reason. It is relationship. When we honestly accept Christ into our lives we enter the family of God. We become the children of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Accepting Christ is not just intellectual belief. It is a personal relationship and transformation of heart and character. We accept Christ to become more like Him. We allow the love of Christ to enter our lives and transform us mentally, emotionally, and intellectually. Our goal is to become more like Christ. 1 John 2:26 “These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
When we are born again God establishes us in Christ. God quickens the spirit of the believer and makes our spirit alive. There was a time our spirit was dead to God. When we are “born again” we are miraculously brought to life in Jesus Christ. We are spiritually born again.
Hear Jesus words: John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’”
John 3:5–6 “Jesus answered, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.’”
Ephesians 5:1 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.”
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”
Why does God leave us on Earth after we accept Christ” Paul writes In Philippians 2:15 “that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”
Our life in Christ is to grow spiritually. We are to grow in Christ and be a witness of God to others. We live in a “crooked and perverse world.” We live among people who are lost and going to Hell. We live among people who do not know Christ. Our lives are to shine the love of Christ. We are to be witnesses of Jesus in a lost and perverse generation.
We are one generation from losing America. The freedom we now have has been slowly eroding. It is now quickly eroding and soon we will no longer have the freedom of worship. More importantly there are many who do not know Christ as Savior. We as Christians have the responsibility of Going into the world and being a witness for Christ.
Matthew 28:19–20 “19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
