Proverbs 3:5–6 5 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
Discouragement and failure. Two areas of life most people at some time will face.
When everything is going good in life it is easy to say “I trust in God” but when the problems mount, when the health starts to fade, when the memory is no longer there, where do you turn. You turn to the God you have trusted in throughout life.
Psalm 37:4–6 “Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.”
Psalm 37 tells us God will give us the desires of our heart. Wow! What a promise. When we delight ourselves in the Lord our desires change from the things of this world to God. We commit ourselves to the ways of God. We trust God to bring forth His purpose in our lives.
Our joy is no longer rooted in the things of this world but in God. Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Psalm 9:10 “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
If anyone tells you when you become a Christian everything that happens in your life will be good, they are lying to you. You may face more problems and difficulties in life as a Christian. Even the bad things that come into our lives God will work for our good. “All things, good and bad, God will work together for our good. When life happens to others that is one thing. When life happens to us it is a completely different story.
