John 16:23-24 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive that your joy may be full.
Joy in Jesus is rooted in the transformative hope and assurance that comes from a personal relationship with Him. It is a joy that transcends circumstances. It is an inner peace and strength that endures even during the trial and tribulations of life.
The joy of the Lord is more than just an emotional response, it is a fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22. It is a reflection of the soul that is in harmony with God.
Jesus reassures us that although we may face grief and sorrow now it is only temporary. Soon we will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. We do not sorrowfully stand by an empty tomb weeping. The followers of Christ rejoice in the resurrection of Jesus and our relationship with the living Savior who has conquered death.
The resurrection of Jesus is an event that turns despair into hope. Much like winter gives way to the promise of spring, Jesus’ rising signifies rebirth. In following Him, we are invited into a continuous cycle of renewal. This isn’t a temporary event; it’s a foundational change in our nature that calls us to see life—and even death—differently.
